Why Wake Up The Wolf?

So why Wake Up The Wolf? I guess the right answer is, that I’m still trying to figure that out myself. I never imagined I would have a blog. My friends, family, co-workers, and anyone else who knows me probably wouldn’t believe me if I told them. I have always been more of the reserved, quiet type. I do my best to remain humble and talking about myself doesn’t necessarily come naturally. Which brings us back to the question at hand, why?

Wolves represent all the qualities I’ve ever wanted to possess for myself. Defying Machiavellian ideals, they are both respected and feared. The wolf walks through every square inch of his environment with absolute dominance. Symbols of Spirit and Loyalty. Strong and fierce, yet humble and honest. A wolf doesn’t brag to the rest of the animal kingdom about how great he is. He simply carries himself with greatness. Wolves exemplify the standard of excellence that I push to create within myself.

My name is Kyle MacLauchlan and I’m the GM of a small family-owned restaurant, an entrepreneur, an amateur day trader (learning is a process), a full-time student, a motivational speaker, fitness enthusiast, blogger (after I finish this post), and a felon. Yes, you read that last part right. I’m 25 years old at the time of this post. For the first four years of my adult life, I was inside a penitentiary. I don’t bring this up for the purposes of glorification. Nor do I want to sit here and talk about what I did and what prison is like. THAT IS NOT THE PURPOSE OF THIS BLOG. If my readers have any concerns I would be more than happy to privately discuss them and answer any questions. My reason for bringing this up is an attempt at complete honesty with my audience. I have made mistakes in my life, as have most people, but the lessons I’ve learned because of these mistakes have proven more valuable to me than anything else. Hopefully, my readers can take my knowledge and experience and apply it to their own lives.

The purpose of this blog isn’t so simple to explain. Over the past few years, I’ve worked really hard to dig myself out of a hole that a teenage version of me dug so eagerly. It has been a long and exhausting process that I feel is almost to an end. Now I’m in a position where I have to ask myself what I truly want out of life. When I was a kid and people would ask me what I wanted to be when I grow up the answer wasn’t an ex-con working in a restaurant. Honestly, I would say “a millionaire”. They would go into a spiel about how that isn’t a profession and I have to have a plan to make a million dollars. I would always disagree. To this day I still believe in my heart that I’m going to make a million dollars. In fact, my goals now far exceed that. That leads me to the first of three reasons I can credit as motives for actually creating this blog.

  • Cataloging my Journey to Success

This is as much as a personal reason as it is an ode to the value I intended to provide. I want to have my journey completely documented for myself and my audience. I want to learn and grow together with my readers.

  • Challenging, Motivating, and Inspiring

Although a substantial amount of money is a personal goal, it’s not for the purpose of materialism. It’s for freedom, which means that much more to someone who has lost it. But money is not what I want out of life. My mission is to challenge, inspire, and motivate others. I want you to Wake Up The Wolf. There is a better version of yourself that you can always give to your family, your friends, the world, your goals, and everyone around you. My purpose is to help as many people as possible do this. Without purposefully lacking originality, I want to make the world a better place. I want to make a significant impact on the lives of others while we all strive towards setting a standard of excellence for ourselves.

  • Responsibility/Setting an Example

This one is almost entirely personal (no offense to you guys), but I intend to use this blog to hold me responsible for the things I say and do. To practice what I preach. To keep me driven to achieve my goals as I aspire others to do the same.

After this introductory post, I plan on posting more substantial content. This is more or less to give everyone a glimpse into who I am and what Wake Up The Wolf is. If you can’t tell from my description, I am not a one trick pony. I strive to achieve excellence in every aspect of my life. This is not a blog for people who only care about one particular topic. When I say “in all aspects of life” I mean it. I will cover everything from fitness, health, well-being, philosophy, spirituality, finance, entrepreneurship, motivation, family, and really whatever the hell else I feel like talking about that can improve some aspect of your life. Often times we get so focused on improving one particular area of ourselves that we neglect other aspects of our lives cause depotentiation. I want to challenge my readers in all these different areas. Mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.  If you would rather read material more focused on a specific topic I would be happy to recommend other material.

I welcome anyone to contact me, comment, or provide feedback. This is more yours than it is mine and I want to be as open as possible with my audience. If you have concerns, suggestions, complaints or anything else to say I want you to feel free to say it. I believe my email is posted on the website somewhere. I’m still learning how to work all this so bear with me.

If you’ve made it this far into the post I want you to know that I greatly appreciate the time you’ve taken to read this. Hopefully, everyone enjoys the content and we can start this journey (that I’ve now obligated myself to fulfill). Please comment or share. If you enjoyed the content feel free to follow me on social media.
